Organizer

Monetary and Banking Research Institute (MBRI), in accordance with the authority delegated from Central Bank of Iran (CBI), is the responsible for conducting EBPS annual event. To organize this, MBRI has already made dominant efforts to build a close cooperation and collaboration tied with the regulatory bodies and the industry by engaging key internal players in this event. The organizing structure consist of three level committees that the highest among them is “high policy council”. This council has the responsibility to make macro decisions on EBPS’s purpose and key targets, including the main subject and topics. To arrange EBPS’s responsibilities, secretariat of EBPS has also conducted two committee, “Scientific committee” and “Executive committee” that shall take required measures related to the scientific and administrative matters, respectively.

Monetary and Banking Research Institute (MBRI)



MBRI was founded in 1990 as the think tank for CBI in response to a growing need for research relating to the field of monetary-exchange rate policy and banking. To create the required policy-oriented research capacity in the afore-mentioned areas MBRI has instituted 6 research divisions: banking, electronic banking, Islamic banking, financial management, monetary-and exchange rate policy, and quantitative modeling. The research work undertaken at MBRI have been published and publicized through various mediums and forums including two regular annual conferences. The annual conference on Monetary and Exchange Rate Policies has been held since 1990 and the annual conference of Electronic Banking and Payment Systems began in 2012 and has grown significantly both in terms of quality and professional participation at the domestic and international levels.

The Monetary and Banking Research Institute (MBRI) has organized the Annual Conference of Electronic Banking and Payment Systems (EBPS) since 2011. MBRI has assumed this new responsibility in line with their expanded mission to undertake and fund research and to organize scientific forums in the fields of EB and PS.
